Leadership Team

Patrick J. Dempsey

Mr. Dempsey is President and Chief Executive Officer, Barnes Group Inc. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Company's Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Dempsey joined Barnes Group as President, Windsor Airmotive in 2000 to lead and strategically position the Company's Aerospace Aftermarket business for future growth. He was later promoted to Group Vice President, Operations for Barnes Aerospace, expanding his responsibilities for both the OE production and Aftermarket segments. In 2004, Mr. Dempsey was appointed a Company Officer and President of Barnes Aerospace. He was subsequently promoted to President, Barnes Distribution to lead the Company's expansion in its North American and European distribution businesses. In 2008, he was appointed as President, Logistics and Manufacturing Services, Barnes Group Inc. In 2012, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and President, Barnes Industrial before becoming President and Chief Executive Officer, Barnes Group Inc. in 2013.

Prior to joining Barnes Group, Mr. Dempsey held a number of senior management positions at United Technologies Corporation, Pratt and Whitney Division, serving as President, HAC Division, and General Manager, TCT and DPRO Divisions. Mr. Dempsey also served in several leadership positions at Interturbine Corporation.

Mr. Dempsey holds a Bachelor's degree of Technology (Education) from the University of Limerick, Ireland and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan. He serves on the Board of Directors for Nucor Corporation and also serves on the Board of Trustees for Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI).

Stephen G. Moule

Steve Moule was appointed Senior Vice President, Barnes Group Inc. and President, Barnes Industrial in December 2019.  Before joining Barnes Group, Mr. Moule was President, Americas at Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR), a $1.1B operating unit within the Fortive Corporation. Mr. Moule joined Gilbarco Veeder-Root in 2007 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility including President, North America, as well as Managing Director, United Kingdom; Managing Director, Europe; President Europe & CIS; and President, Europe, Middle East & Africa, all based in London, England.

Mr. Moule holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Kingston University in London, UK and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Sydney in Sydney, Australia.

Michael A. Beck

Michael Beck was appointed Senior Vice President, Barnes Group Inc. and President, Barnes Aerospace in March 2016. Mr. Beck came to Barnes Group with over 27 years of global aerospace experience. Prior to joining Barnes Group, Mr. Beck was the Senior Vice President & General Manager, Fuel and Motion Control, a $1B division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group. Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive Officer of GKN’s Aerospace Engine Systems business, where he led the due diligence, business synergies and integration of a $1.1B acquisition. Prior to that, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of GKN’s global Propulsion Systems and Special Products business. Earlier in his career, Mr. Beck was the Chief Operating Officer and Site Executive for GKN’s St. Louis, Missouri business.

Mr. Beck holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Lincolnshire and Humberside University in the United Kingdom.

Patrick T. Hurley, Ph.D.

Patrick T. Hurley, Ph.D. was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Barnes Group Inc. in February 2019. Prior to joining Barnes Group, Dr. Hurley was General Manager, Asia Pacific & Chief Technology Officer with A123 Systems, LLC. From 2011 to 2014, he held a series of roles with increasing responsibility with Johnson Controls, including Director, Global Core Components; Director, R&D; and Senior Manager, Strategic Technology Planning. From 2006 to 2011, Dr. Hurley held roles with Air Products, including the positions of Senior Principal Research Scientist / Technology Lead and Senior Research Scientist.

Following the completion of his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry at Purdue University, Dr. Hurley continued his studies in Solid state Physics as a Kavli Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).  

James C. Pelletier

James C. Pelletier was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Barnes Group Inc. in April 2020. Mr. Pelletier joined Barnes Group in 2015 and previously held the position of Deputy General Counsel, Barnes Group Inc. and Segment General Counsel for Barnes Aerospace. Prior to joining Barnes Group, Mr. Pelletier held the position of Associate Counsel with Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Company. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Pelletier was Compliance Counsel for GE Aviation. Prior to that, he worked in the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Commerce as an Attorney-Advisor within the Bureau of Industry and Security. Mr. Pelletier began his career as an Associate with the law firm Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe, LLP in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Pelletier earned a Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from Duke University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in International Politics from Georgetown University. He is admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut (in-house counsel), and the District of Columbia.

Dawn N. Edwards

Dawn N. Edwards serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Barnes Group Inc. Joining Barnes Group in 1998, Ms. Edwards was most recently Vice President of Human Resources - Global Operations. Prior to this, she held positions of increasing responsibility with Barnes Aerospace and the former Barnes Industrial. Before joining Barnes Group, Ms. Edwards held a number of Human Resource positions at United Technologies Corporation Hamilton Standard division.

She has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Marian Acker

Marian Acker serves as Vice President, Controller and Interim Chief Financial Officer for Barnes Group. She previously served as Vice President and Corporate Controller for Barnes Group. Joining the Company in 1993, she has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Group Controller, Barnes Aerospace, and Assistant Corporate Controller. Prior to that, Ms. Acker was with PricewaterhouseCoopers as Audit Manager.

A Certified Public Accountant, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford, Connecticut.

Michael V. Kennedy

Michael Kennedy was appointed Vice President, Tax and Treasury in March 2016.  He joined the Company as Vice President, Tax in August 2015. Prior to joining Barnes Group, Mr. Kennedy served as Vice President of Tax and Treasury at Platform Specialty Products Corporation (formerly MacDermid Inc.), where he was responsible for all federal, state and local tax issues as well as managing Global Treasury operations. From 2001 to 2006, he held the position of Vice President, Taxation with Allied Domecq North American Corporation in Westport, CT. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Kennedy served as Director, Tax for MacDermid Inc. and from 1989 to 1997, he held a variety of tax and tax-related roles with Dynamics Corporation of America. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. as part of the tax consulting team.
 
Mr. Kennedy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Lukas Hovorka

Lukas Hovorka serves as Vice President, Corporate Development for Barnes Group Inc. Mr. Hovorka joined Barnes Group in 2008 as Director, Corporate Development. Prior to joining Barnes Group, he was with ITOCHU International Inc. where he held the position of Director/Vice President, Corporate Development. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Hovorka had the role of Senior Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions with Robertson Stephens, and he was with Goldman Sachs from 1996 to 1999.

Mr. Hovorka holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
