Apprenticeship Program at Seeger-Orbis

Q: What is the duration of the program? 
A: Between 2 and 3 ½ years.

Q: Can you provide an overview of Seeger-Orbis’s Apprenticeship Program?
A: A Seeger-Orbis apprentice can train in a variety of roles, including Apprentice Production/Machinist, Warehouse Operator, Commercial Clerk, Electrician, Fitter, and Toolmaker.

• The Apprentice Production/Machinist focuses on setting up and operating machines and quality control.
• The Apprentice Warehouse Operator focuses on selecting and packing the goods as well as proper storage.
• The Apprentice Commercial Clerk works in and obtains knowledge of HR, Customer Service, Finance, Purchasing, Quality, and Warehouse.
• The Apprentice Electrician prepares circuit diagrams and repairs electronics in machinery.
• The Apprentice Fitter focuses on general machine maintenance and welding.
• The Apprentice Toolmaker learns the art of producing and repairing a variety of tools.

Q: When do you normally recruit people to join the Apprenticeship Program? 
A: We recruit one year before the apprenticeship starts.  For example, the recruitment for our 2019 Apprenticeship Program will begin in November 2018.

Q: Which schools does Seeger-Orbis usually recruit from?
A: Feldbergschule in Oberursel; Werner-von-Siemens-Schule in Frankfurt; and Hochtaunusschule in Oberursel.

Q: How many apprentices does Seeger-Orbis typically hire each year?
A: The number of apprentices hired each year varies and ranges from 5-10.
